My Mobility Service Dog

I had a massive stroke due to my AVM (Arteriovenous malformations), it means my arteries and veins get discombobulated in the brain, which I was born with. The AVM rupture happened Feb. 2022, which left me with a stroke. I have aphasia, my verbal talking expressions are limited. As well as right hemiparesis - which means my right side is extremely affected. I don’t have full control of my right arm and no control of my right fingers. I have challenges with walking mobility too; balance, unsteady walking, and distances.

I want a mobility service dog to help with;

  • Forward momentum

  • Beaches and lakes

  • Hiking up and down hill

  • Help me undress with long sleeves

  • Balancing when I lose my balance and need something to hold onto

  • Bracing

  • Shopping bag and zippers

  • Etc…

I need a service dog so I can be more independent.

I will get a dog from SIT Service Dogs, which trains Labrador retriever and Labrador retriever mixes.

My dog will cost $20,000, $2,500 for graduation, a harness- being $735 (BLD’s Mobility Support Harness (MSH)), goggles, coat, booties, etc.. will cost around $2,000.
